Private by design.

Backlight Zero does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, or telemetry. No analytics data is collected by the app.

License data

To activate Basic, the app sends the license key and a random installation UUID to the licensing service. The UUID is not a hardware serial number. The license key, activation instance, UUID, and signed entitlement are stored locally in macOS Keychain.

Payments

Payments, receipts, tax calculation, download delivery, and license-key issuance are handled by Creem as merchant of record. Backlight Zero does not receive or store payment-card details.
